Two immediate concerns for the next mayor of Nyack: Parking and the atrocious sidewalk situation with the lethal ridges of bricks surrounding ugly red mulch..
First of all,we who live in Nyack,South nyack and Upper Nyack should have a parking sticker that is adhered to our windshield & paid for and renewed like our driver’s license or the registration for our car. We pay high taxes for the right to live in this river town and we shouldn’t have to go through an ordeal to drive into our village and not find parking and then have to pay for parking in a most unfriendly & impratical manner. A sticker showing we are residents of Nyack should suffice and provide parking anywhere and at anytime of day or night.
As for the badly designed sidewalks: the stone ridges that jut upwards from the red mulch area are an accident waiting to happen. They take up good walking space on the sidewalk AND they take up precious parking space .
Whoever designed and approved this unsightly and hazardous space should get their heads examined.
